This is THE little thing that makes a statement when you invite people over: chocolate tuiles. You serve them with tea or coffee and you’ll make people happy. Plus, as always with my recipes, it’s super simple. It’s a recipe for chocolate fans. It’s full of magnesium. It will make you feel good. It’s also great to give as a gift or to take with you when you’re invited to dinner.

For this recipe, you will need:
- 1 bar of dark chocolat
- about 100 grams of grated coconut
- 1 small saucepan
- 1 medium saucepan
- 1 small pan
- 1 tablespoon
- 2 spatulas
- 2 baking sheets or parchment paper
- 1 small container
- a little tap water
- 15 minutes

We’ll start by toasting the coconut. You’re going to take the coconut and put it in the pan. You’re going to put it over medium heat. Now, you stir with the spatula. Pay attention because it toasts pretty fast. After a few minutes, it should have a nice caramel color, like in the picture. At this point, you remove it from the pan and put it in the small container. Now your kitchen should smell like hot coconut. Now it’s time to get busy with the chocolate.

We’ll take our pans and melt our chocolate in a double boiler. So, you fill your medium saucepan halfway with water. You put the small one in the medium one, and you break your chocolate into the small pan. You place the whole thing on a medium heat and stir gently with the second spatula, so that the chocolate doesn’t stick.
While the chocolate is melting nicely, you’re going to spread your baking sheets on your work surface. Also, bring your coconut container close together, you’re going to need it. As soon as your chocolate is melted, take it off the heat and set it up, near your work surface. With the tablespoon, you will scoop out some chocolate. You take the equivalent of half a tablespoon. You are going to make the chocolate flow, vertically, so as to make a big drop. This big drop, you are going to spread it with the round of the spoon, to make a disc of it of a thickness from 1 to 2 millimeter. Then you sprinkle this disk with grated coconut, as on the pictures. If you’d like to see the process with precision, we posted a mini video of my tile making on our Instagram account. You then repeat the process, until there is no more chocolate.

Once your tiles are finished, you will have to put them in a cool place. Don’t try to peel them off until they are cold, you will ruin your work. You have to put them in the refrigerator with the baking sheets. Otherwise, since it’s cold right now, you can leave them on your windowsill. No matter how they are cooled, after 10 minutes they will have solidified and you will be able to peel them off. You can now enjoy them, otherwise you will have to keep them in the refrigerator. This is the only constraint, because they melt at the slightest heat.
Even as someone who is not a big chocolate consumer, I love this recipe. It’s simple, fun and so good with a little tea in front of a show. It can be adapted endlessly so don’t hesitate to share your ideas in the comments. I wish you a good little moment of pleasure. To not miss the next recipes, don’t forget to subscribe and like.
