Today, I want to share with you some science fiction series that have marked me. I know that for many of you, science fiction is Star Wars and Star Trek, and that’s true, but not only. There were other things before and after that are really fantastic. I propose you three series that I love. They have completely different styles but they are for me, classics. We go into space. We go to war. We travel in time. We change universes and we solve investigations. In short, I promise you that you will not be bored.
Battlestar Gallactica

I love this series, it is extraordinary. In the future, men create Cylons. The Cylons are robots that help them in their daily tasks. The problem is that they end up developing a conscience. Some of them even manage to take human form. They obviously end up rebelling and thus starts the war between the Cylons and the humans. The humans lose the war. A few thousand manage to escape into space on board ships. They escape hoping to survive and find a new habitable planet. There follows a fantastic and heartbreaking epic through the galaxy at war.
You can’t miss this story. This series has inspired many movies and series. It is the reference in terms of robots. It is totally iconic and, icing on the cake, it has a real ending. This series starts with a TV movie and then goes on to the season 1. And, without advertising, at the moment the complete series is available on amazon. You will enjoy it. For me, it’s a 9/10.

Fringe

When science exceeds the limits of our imagination, it gives this jewel. Fringe is the name of the FBI’s spooky division, the one that investigates abnormal scientific and technological phenomena. And at the moment, there are plenty of them happening around the world. To understand what’s going on, agent Olivia Dunham will have to call on an old, ultra brilliant but completely crazy scientist and his son. With them, we will push the limits of science, create new technologies and above all, expand the field of possibilities. You have an appointment with great police investigations! This series is very well done. The plot is fascinating and the characters are endearing. Honestly, it would be a shame for you to miss it. It’s obviously a 9/10.

Doctor who

A BBC classic that has been going on for years, years, years and years. Why? Because it’s awesome! You can’t claim to like science fiction and not have watched it. I know, it’s extreme, but I mean it. It’s a classic of the genre and of English culture. We see statues that are not statues, thousands of aliens, different planets and different times. We travel in time and space in each episode. In short, we never get bored. The stories are more fascinating, extraordinary and touching than the others. You will finally have the chance to meet the doctor and travel in the Tardis. This series is almost 40 seasons long and full of extraordinary episodes. It’s hard to find your way around and to know where to start when you don’t know the series. My advice is to start with the first season of the re-release, in 2005. I warn you, the first season has a very old fashioned filter so if it’s too hard you can skip it. It won’t stop you from understanding. For me the best doctor is David Tenant, feel free to tell me yours. I put 9/10 because I can’t bring myself to put 10.
